Nazir Mulji brings more than 30 years of financial and management experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors to his candidacy for Treasurer. A Chartered Professional Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Calgary, he operates his own professional accounting firm, serving small corporations and nonprofit organizations with financial reporting, tax compliance and governance matters.

Before establishing his practice, Nazir held management roles across several Government of Alberta ministries, including Alberta Treasury, Municipal Affairs, Community Development, Health, and Justice and Solicitor General. That work gave him a deep understanding of public accountability, budgeting and sound financial stewardship.

Nazir has a long record of board and volunteer service. He currently serves on the Board of the Friends of the University of Alberta and has served as a Board Trustee and Vice Chair of the Edmonton Public Library, Vice Chair of the Old Scona Academic High School Parent Council, and Vice Chair, Treasurer and Board Member of Aurora Charter School. In addition, he has been actively engaged with the Ismaili Muslim Community on several leadership roles.

Nazir is committed to strengthening civil society through transparent, accountable financial management, and to helping organizations build the capacity they need to serve their communities well.
