Trina Joshi, Board Member
Originally a journalist from India, Trina is a community developer and a penchant advocate for the rights of those living on the margins of modern Canada. With her strong commitment to developing an inclusive community, Trina spearheaded a social project – Making Change – that sought to promote leadership among young girls of South Asian and Middle Eastern origin in Edmonton and Calgary. As Project Manager, she identified several social and systemic barriers to girls’ leadership potential and oriented them towards roles that brought out the leader in them.
Interest in politics is natural to this instinctive journalist. She has volunteered her time in several political campaigns and has served as Campaign Manager for a federal candidate in 2011.
Owing to her post-graduate education in Journalism and Political Science in the US and India, Trina has a good grip on social issues and wishes to contribute to the cause of gender equality through excellent initiatives like Daughters Day.
