Board of Directors Qualifications and Attributes– CCS is seeking interested individuals who:
· Have a passion for CCS’s mission and work
· Bring a broad perspective on Canadian values and human rights in the Edmonton community
· Are able to build relationships and advocate for human rights concerns and initiatives
· Are engaged, capable and interested in serving on a governance and administrative not-for-profit Board
· Can commit to attending up to 9 board meetings a year, a strategic planning day, and participating in at least one board committee – a time commitment of up to 10 hours/month
The board welcomes applications from all interested candidates. In particular, we are seeking candidates who offer:
· Previous board and governance experience
· Human rights advocacy and programming experience
· Leadership experience, particularly on not for profit boards
